This year, as we commemorate our 14th year in business, I recall the day I decided to leave my job and strike out on my own. My decision was met with “oohs” and “ahhhs,” as if it were inconceivable for a woman to be successful in business. Look at me now: 14 years later, I have served innumerable clients from various industries and amassed a wealth of experience.
I know that today women across the world will celebrate their business success and discuss the principle of #EmbraceEquity.
For me, it’s about striking the right balance between my incredible warmth and my ability to remain strong, intelligent, informed, and empowered in the delivery of my professional service. All this while also balancing my duties as a mother and homemaker for my family.
This has not been an easy path, despite what I may have led people to believe as I gracefully get though my daily tasks. As a woman, I’ve been accused of being emotional, discriminated against, and subjected to bias despite people knowing I was the best ‘Man’ for the job.
While I have had my share of obstacles, it is my goal to create an environment that sets women up to be in their element so that they may get the most out of their vast expertise. In so doing, my company has been presented with countless opportunities, but we have carefully explored and embraced clients that develop new ways for women to unleash their inner strength and creativity, resulting in an out-of-the-box workplace and exceptional end product. Women are emerging as leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and change agents, and while the rest of the world is catching on to the power of a woman, we are already seeing it in our clients, suppliers, and associates.
Today, we celebrate the incredible women who have collaborated with us, led the path for others, and embraced the uniqueness that is woman!
